New Living Translation
All of us used to live /that way, 
following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. 
By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

Used to refers to something familiar or routine, as in "I'm used to getting up early for work, "

or to say that something repeatedly happened in the past like "we used to go out more."

describing something in the past that doesn't happen anymore.

TV 프로그램 영향으로 도시가 아닌 자연/산속에서 사는 사람을 생각하지만

법적으로는 법으로 정한 일을 하는 法人(회사) 법인과는 반대의 일반사람이고

사회제도나 문화에 속박되지 않고 있는 그대로 자연스레 사는 사람도 의미하나

 

영어로 natural person 자연인 하면 legal person 법인의 반대되는 사람이지

자연 속에서 사는 사람으로는 인식되지 못하기에 일반적으로 쓰이는

'off-grid' man으로 써야 바로 통한다 (off-the-grid에서 the를 생략하기도 한다)

                자유와 문화적 창조를 위하여 노력하는 것을 목적으로 한다

기독인이 나는 자연인이다 또는 인도주의자人道主義者라 하면

道도를 따르되 인간이 만든 도를 따른다는 선언이기에

그리스도교의 근간인 그리스도의 道도/way길과는 다른 길을 간다가 되므로

나는 anti-Christ 적그리스도다는 선언과 동일한 말이 되는데

사실이지 자연인은 자연본능적으로 하나님을 싫어하니 hostile 적대적이요 (롬 8:7)

(범법자가 본능적으로 경찰이나 판검사를 싫어하는 것과 동일함)

초자연적인 것을 이해하지도 못해 받을 수도 없으니 부인/무시에 조롱도 하고 (고전 2:14)

매사 내 주관적 본능에 의거한 자연인의 삶을 살다 죽으면 끝이라 하니

하나님의 은혜 아래 영적인 삶과 죽음 후의 부활과 심판에는 반대자가 된다

 

해서 I was a natural man.이라는 주제를 선택하였는데

과거에 그랬다는 의미나 아직도 그렇고 앞으로도 그럴 건

육체가 살아있는 한 본능자연적으로 육체를 따라 살려하는 욕구 때문이요

어쩌다가 간간히 성령의 인도하심을 바라기는 하지만

여차하면 자기 본능으로 돌아서는 현실을 인정하기 때문이나

이런 이유로 자연인과의 싸움/영적전쟁/자기 부인의 필요성이 절실히 느껴진다

 

Lord, help us take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Amen.

In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul uses the word natural to refer to someone still in his original (sinful) state. The Greek word psuchikos (“natural”) can be defined as “animal,” as opposed to “spiritual.” Natural men are those who are occupied with the things of this material world to the exclusion of the things of God.
