For these rules are only shadows of the reality yet to come.
And Christ himself is that reality.

These are a shadow of the things that were to come;
 the reality, however, is found in Christ.

이것들은 장래 일의 그림자이나 몸은 그리스도의 것이니라

All those things are mere shadows cast /before what was to come;
the substance is Christ.

but the substance [the reality of what is foreshadowed] belongs to Christ.

 

성경 자체가 reality 실제현실을 있는 그대로 기술한 기록서인데

그 안에 reality 라는 단어가 별로 쓰이지 않는다는 사실/현실/진실/실재는

이미 4실만을 언급하고 있기에 구태여 그중 한 현실얘기다고 강조할 필요가 없고

단지 한군데 reality 현실을 언급한 건 substance 실체를 설명하기 위함인 건

hard word 어려운 단어를 쉽게 설명하는 데 있기에

우리에겐 'substance 본질/실체' 보다는 'reality 현실'이 더 쉽다

 

개역개정은 문자대 문자 번역인 킹제임스를 기준으로 하였기에

그림자를 비추는 것은 'body 몸'이다로 번역하였으나

그림자나 몸은 physical phenomenon 물리적 현상에만 국한될 수 있기에

본인처럼 blockhead ; A mentally dull person: 돌머리는

먹고 마시는 일이나 종교축제나 안식일까지 다 그림자에 불과하고

그림자의 실체/몸은 그리스도라 하는 표현을

한글로 읽고도 무슨 의미인지 이해를 못 했다가

body 가 reality 실체라는 번역을 보고 나서야 글의 핵심을 이해했다

 

부끄럽지만 한자바탕인 한글 의미도 잘 모르는 것이 사실이라 찾아보니

 

사실(事實); 실제로 존재하는 어떤 것
현실(現實); 현재라는 시간에 실제로 존재하는 사실이나 상태.
진실(眞實), 참; 사실, 거짓이 아닌, 왜곡이나 은폐나 착오를 모두 배제했을 때에 밝혀지는 것
실재(實在, reality); 인식 주체로부터 독립해 객관적으로 존재한다고 여겨지는 것
실체(實體); 언제나 있으며 없어지지 않는 것
실존(實存); 실제로 존재하는 것.

 

자세히 보면 실實자가 공통분모인데

'꽉 찼다'와 '씨가 있다'와 '있는 그대로이다'는 시각/감각적으로 확인할 수 있는 구체적인 뜻과
'쓸모가 있다'와 '힘(영향력)이 있다'와 '참이다'는 해석이 뒤따라야 하는 추상적인 뜻이라 합니다

위에 열거한 정의에 의거하면

하나님께서는 fullness 충만하시고 seed 만물의 출처시면

the way He is, He is who He is 있는 그대로 자존하시는 분이고

resourceful 우리의 쓸모를 채우시고 powerful/mighty 전능하시고

truth 참이시기에 其實 기실  실實의 실체요 본체이시라

성자 하나님이신 그리스도께서 그분의 그림자와 같은 피조물의 근원이신 되는 것이다

 

실상 피조물인 우리의 현실은 하나님의 현실의 일부가 되어야 하는데

에덴의 반역에서 인간 스스로만의 현실을 창조하고자 손 내민 결과로

인간 각자가 자신만의 현실을 창조하여 살자 하나 실實이 부재하므로

하나님의 실實 현실과는 정반대인 虛實허실, 거짓假 가현실을 추구하고

더하여 virtual reality 가상현실에 augmented 나 mixed reality로 발전하매

이젠 실제와 상상의 한계가 모호해져서

dead in life 산 건지 죽은 건지도 모르며 사는 현실이 인간의 실實빠진 허실이라

내가 현실이라 하는 것은 실제로는 비현실이므로

내 현실에 충실한다는 것은 비현실에 충실하는 것이라 열정적으로 해도 망한다

 

우리 인생은 자기 현실꿈에 집착하여 사는 꿈 꾸는 자라 

꿈에서 먹고 마셔도 여전히 배고프고 목마른 것처럼

채워도 채워도 차지 않아서 공허한 게 인생 현실이요

게걸스레 먹어 육체는 산만해지나 마음은 여전히 속 빈 강정

그런 나의 현실에 집착하여 끝장 보겠다면 볼 건 파멸이리라 생각되어

서둘러 하나님의 현실로 돌아와서 실實을 탐하자 하면

보장될 건 충만포만이요 평화요 안전이요 성공성취인건

성경에 약속된 실實 이신 하나님께서 우리의 현실이 되어 주시기 때문이다 (마 11:28)

 

Lord, help us to let go of our false reality to grab hold of Your true reality. Amen.
