1 I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality /going on among you

—something //that even pagans don’t do.

I am told that a man in your church is living in sin with his stepmother.

 

1 I can hardly believe 믿기 어렵다 the report 보고서를 about the sexual immorality 성적 문란에 대해

going on 진행되고 있는 among you 너희 가운데—something 어떤 일 that 그건 even pagans 이교도조차 don’t do 안 한다. 

I 나는 am told 들려졌다/들었다 that a man 한 사람이 in your church 너희 교회 안에 is living in sin 죄 가운데 산다

with his stepmother 그의 계모와.

 

* hardly ; only just; almost not; barely: 거의 아니다

* When you say you can hardly do something, you are emphasizing that it is very difficult for you to do it. 믿기 어렵다

 

2 You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. 

And you should remove this man /from your fellowship.

 

2 You 너희는 are so proud 자랑스로워 한다 of yourselves 너희 자신에 대해,

but 그러나 you 너희는 should be mourning 애통하고 있어야 한다 in sorrow 슬픔과 and shame 수치로. 

And you 너희는 should remove 내쳐야 한다 this man 이 사람을 from your fellowship 너희의 사귐/교제에서.

 

* 죄를 사랑하는 죄인의 욕망 특성상 조폭 아닌 일반 죄인끼리도 남보다도 더 큰 죄를 범 한 걸 교만스레 떠벌리나

살인자나 바늘도둑이나 비방꾼 헛말꾼 모두 율법파괴 죄인이기에 사실 죄인 키재기는 정의가 아닌 불의구현이다

 

3 Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. 

And as though I were there, I have already passed [judgment /on this man] /in the name of the Lord Jesus.

 

3 Even though 비록 I 나는 am not 있지 않아도 with you 너희와 함께 in person 대면하여,

I 나는 am 있다 with you 너희와 함께 in the Spirit 영적으로. 

And as though 마치 I 내가 were there 거기에 있는 것처럼 (실제로는 있지 않지만),

I 나는 have already 이미 passed judgment 판단을 하였다 on this man 이 사람에 대하여

in the name of the Lord Jesus 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로/권한으로.

 

* even though : despite the fact that: 사실에도 불구하고

* in person/in the flesh ; In one's physical presence, 대면하여

* to pass judgment ; 1. (of a court or judge) give a decision concerning a defendant or legal matter. 구형하다

                            2. to judge someone or something, especially hastily or preemptively. 판단하다/비판하다

passed judgment이 재판정에서 구형/언도하는 의미가 있기에 일반적으로 부정적인 용도로 쓰이지만

긍정적인 의미로는 판단하기이고 부정적으로는 비판하다가 되나 참 재판장이신 예수 그리스도의 성령님을 통해

바울이 행한 판단은 부정도 긍정도 아닌 공정/정의 구현이며 사랑의 매처럼 징계로 구원하는 사랑법의 일면이다

* 가정법에 쓰인 as though/as if ; 절에 쓰인 동사가 비현실/비문법적인 동사 were로 실제가 아닌 가정표현이 됨

Clauses that start with as if / as though describe an unreal or improbable situation

 if they are followed by an unreal tense (the past subjunctive or the past perfect subjunctive 과거/과거완료 가정). 

Otherwise, they express that the statement is true. 그렇지 않으면/비현실이 아닌 실제라면 옳은/맞는 진술이다

 

* 바울은 현장에 없지만 영적으로는 같이 있다는 건 바울의 영이 무소부재의 성령님과 연합된 사실을 암시하는데

인간 바울은 볼 수 없어도 하나님께서는 신자의 행동뿐 아니라 안 보이는 생각도 아시므로 바울에게  계시하셨다

 

4  You must call a meeting of the church.

 I will be present with you in spirit, and so will the power of our Lord Jesus.

You 너희는 must call 소집해야 한다 a meeting 회합을 of the church 교회의. 

I 나는 will be 있을 것이다 present 현존하여 with you 너희와 함께 in spirit 영적으로,

and so 그렇게 will 있을 것이다 the power 능력도 of our Lord Jesus 주 예수님의.

고린도 교회의 속 사정을 멀리서도 보고 들을 수 있었던 것처럼 예수님과 연합된 신자도 천국현실을 잘 알 수 있다

 

5 Then you must throw this man out and hand him over /to Satan 

so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and [he himself] will be saved on the day () the Lord returns.

  신자를 사탄에게 내어주는 것은 영원한 심판을 의미하지 않고 단지 고난을 통하여 육체의 죄성을 벗기고자 하는

  사랑의 매로 이해되는데 마치 이스라엘 백성을 바벨론 포로로 잡혀가게 해서 다시는 우상숭배를 하지 않게 하신

  하나님의 자비성 징계를 의미한다 보이나 막상 징계를 당하는 입장에서 보면 참으로 처절한 죽을 맛이라 생각됨

 

6 Your boasting about this is terrible. 

Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast //that spreads through the whole batch of dough?

 

6 Your 너희의 boasting 자랑은 about this 이 일에 대한 is terrible 소름 끼친다. 

Don’t you 너희는 realize 깨닫지 못하느냐 that절 내용을 즉 this sin 이 죄가 is like a little yeast 작은 누룩 같다는 걸

7 Get rid of the old “yeast” /by removing this wicked person /from among you. 

Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough /made without yeast, which is [what you really are]. 

Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.

8 So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil,

 but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.

not with the old bread 묵은 떡/빵으로 말고 of wickedness 악함과 and evil 악의,

10 But I wasn’t talking /about unbelievers //who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. 

You would have to leave [this world] /to avoid people like that.

 

10 But I 나는 wasn’t talking 말함이 아니다 about unbelievers 불신자들에 대해서 //who 그들 indulge 탐닉하는

in sexual sin 성적인 죄에, or are greedy 탐욕하는, or cheat people 사람들을 사기 치는, or worship idols 우상을 섬기는. 

You 너희는 would have to leave 떠나야 할 것이다 this world 이 세상을 to avoid 피하기 위해 people 사람들을

like that 그러한.

     오해 마라 나는 나머지 세상으로부터 나와 굴파고 웅크리고 있기를 논하는 것이 아니다
    That’s impossible. 그건 불가능하다

     The world is filled /with immoral people /consumed by their desire for more;

     이 세상은 더 많은 걸 위한 욕망에 삼킨 부도덕한 사람들로 가득하다

     they steal /from one another /without hesitation and will worship man-made idols /with no shame at all.

    그들은 주저 없이 다른 이로부터 훔치고 수치도 전혀 없이 사람이 만든 우상을 경배한다
     If you attempted [to avoid these people], you would have to leave [the world itself].

    만약 너희가 그런 사람들을 피하려 시도한다면 너희는 이 세상 자체를 떠나야 할 것이다

* hunker down; 3. To hold stubbornly to some position:

* HOLE UP is to hide out in or as if in a hole or cave. 

* people /consumed by their desire for more = people (who are) /consumed by their desire for more

11 I meant that you are not to associate with anyone //who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, 

or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.

//who 그들인 claims 주장하는 to be a believer 신자라고 yet 그러나 여전히 indulges 탐욕하는 in sexual sin 성적인 죄나, 

or is greedy 탐욕적이고, or worships idols 우상을 경배하거나, or is abusive 학대적이거나, or is a drunkard 주정뱅이나,

or cheats people 사람을 사기 치는 그들.

12 It isn’t my responsibility [to judge outsiders], 

but it certainly is your responsibility [to judge those /inside the church //who are sinning.

but it 그건 certainly 확실하게 is your responsibility 너희들 책임이다 to judge 판단하기는 those 그런 자들을

inside the church 교회 안에서  who 그들 are sinning 죄짓고 있는.

   말씀에 의거하여 Judge fairly 공정하게 판단하는 것은 신자의 책임이다고 바울은 말하나

   판단하지 말랬다 해서 공정한 판단까지 안 하면 바른 결정을 못 하기에 바른 행동도 없다

 

13 God will judge those on the outside; 

but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person /from among you.”

 

13 God 하나님께서는 will judge 심판하실 것이다 those 그들을 on the outside 외부에 있는/불신자들을;

 but 그러나 as the Scriptures 성경이 say 말하는 것처럼,

“You 너희는 must remove 제거해야 한다 the evil 악한 person 사람을 from among you 너희 가운데서.”

 

* 명사로 쓰인 outside ; 외부

* outside는 명사와 형 outside calls/부 playing outside/전치사 outside the house 등으로도 쓰임

* 복수인 Scriptures ; 여러 권으로 된 성경 (단수인 Scripture는 한 권 의미로도 쓰임)

마태복음 7:1에 영어로 judge not으로 되어있고 개역한글은 비판하지 말라로 번역이 되었는데

그 이유는 context 문맥/내용상 대들보 사시안으로 남의 눈의 티를 본다 즉 흠을 잡는 내용이므로

상대를 비판하자고 편견적으로 판단하지 말라는 얘기라 '모든 판단을 금지'로 확대하면 오판이니

오판을 근거로 판단하는 모든 판단은 불의한 편파왜곡 판단비판이 되어 불법적 판단을 양산하니

편견판단을 금지하는 것이나 요한복음 7:24에는 공정하게 판단하라 하여 왜곡해석을 금지한다

 

교회 안에서 죄를 범하는 신자를 판단하여 시정하지 않고 내버려 두면 교회 전체가 죄로 오염될 것이고

거룩한 성만찬에 회개 없는 죄인을 초대하여 교재를 하면 죄인과 함께 죄를 먹고 마시는 결과가 되므로

바울은 올바로 판단하여 내치지 않고 오히려 계속 사귐을 나누는 왜곡된 사랑의 행태를  꾸짖는 것이다

 

일반적으로 judge 판단과 criticize 비판을 혼동하여 쓰지만 판단을 공정하고 정확하게 잘해야 내 자신도

사망길 대신에 생명길로 갈 수 있지만 비판을 위한 판단은 죄를 짓는 판단이라 잘해도 여전히 잘못이며

영어로 비판을 위한 판단은 pass judgement이고 사랑의 동기가 아닌 비방적 판단은 좋은 판단이 못된다

 

***When you pass judgment, you express your strong disapproval of someone.

당신이 판단/비판/비평을 할 때는 당신은 어떤 이를 불인정하는 강한 의견을 표현하는 것이다

If you're overly critical of others, you probably tend to pass judgment on every little move they make.

만약 당신이 다른 이에 대해 지나치게 비방적이라면 당신은 아마도 그들이 하는 모든 행동을 비방하게 된다
