On saints 성인에 관하여

God is not merely mending, not simply restoring a status quo. 

Redeemed humanity is to be something more glorious than unfallen humanity would have been, 

more glorious than any unfallen race now is 

(if at this moment the night sky conceals any such).

* 숙어 is to be ~ 되기로 되다

 

The greater the sin, the greater the mercy: 

the deeper the death, the brighter the re-birth. 

And this super-added glory will, with true vicariousness, exalt all creatures, 

and [those //who have never fallen] will thus bless Adam’s fall.

* Vicarious comes from the Latin word vicarius, which means "substitute.

God 하나님께서는 is not merely 단순히 mending 고치시고 계시지 않으시고,

not simply 간단히 restoring 회복시키시지 않으신다 a status quo 지위체제를.

Redeemed 속량 된 humanity 인간은 is to be something 어떤 것이 되기로 되어있다 more 더 glorious 영광스러운

than unfallen 타락하지 않은 humanity 인간이 would have been 될 수 있을 것 보다도,

more 더 glorious 영광스러운 than any 어떤 unfallen 타락하지 않은 race 종족보다도 now 지금 is 영광스러운

(if 만약 at this moment 이 순간에 the night sky 밤하늘이 conceals 숨기고 있다면 any 어떤 such 그런 종족들을).

 

타락한 아담이 후손이면 누구나 타락성을 유전받지만 혹시 외계인처럼 어둠 속에 안 타락한 외계인종이 숨겨 있다면

현실적으로 타락하지 않은 종족이 타락한 아담족보다도 훨씬 더 영광스러울 것 같지만 사실은 그런 외계인종은 없다

 

The greater the sin 죄가 크면 클수록, the greater the mercy 자비도 크다:

the deeper the death 사망이 깊을수록, the brighter 더 밝다 the re-birth 중생이.

And this 이런 super-added 최대한으로 더해진 glory 영광은 will, with true 진정한 vicariousness 대체용으로서,

exalt 드높일 것이다 all creatures 모든 피조물들을,

and 그리고 those 그들은 who have never fallen 타락한 적이 없었던 will thus 그러므로 bless 찬양할 것이다

Adam’s fall 아담의 타락을.

 

* 인간이 타락하지 않았었다면 그저 평범한 의인 피조물로서 영광스러운 삶을 살았겠지만

타락한 결과 성자 하나님께서 구원하시고 부활시키셔서 하나님의 자녀로 승격시키셨으니

미미한 피조물에서 졸지에 신성에 참여하는 신의 자녀의 영광을 누리는 신적 존재가 되나

이것을 이해하기에는 너무나도 아찔하게 신비로운 하나님의 현실이기에 믿기만 할 뿐이다
