It is no good [trying to ‘be myself’ without Him].

The more we get [what we now call ‘ourselves’] out of the way and let Him take us over,

the more truly ourselves we become.

* take over (something) : to get control of something, or to do something instead of someone else

우리가 우리 자신이라고 부르는 그것을 옆으로 치우고 하나님께서 우리를 통제하시게 허락하면 할수록

우리는 진정한 자신이 더 많이 된다

There is so much of Him //that millions and millions of ‘little Christs’, all different, will still be too few to express Him fully.

하나님께 관한 것은 너무나도 많기에 각각 서로 다른 상태의 수백만수천만 수억 명의 작은 그리스도 신자들이

그분을 표현하기에는 너무나도 적은 숫자이다

(그리스도로 옷 입고 그리스도를 대변하는 신자들을 '작은 그리스도'라 표현하였는데

각각 독특한 개성을 지닌 이들 숫자가 아무리 많아도 광대하신 하나님의 특성을 다 표현할 수 없다)

He made them all.

하나님께서 그들/우리 모두를 만드셨다

He invented

— as an author invents characters in a novel—

all the different men //that you and I were intended to be.

하나님께서, 한 작가가 한 소설에서 등장인물들을 창작/고안하듯,

너와 내가 하나님께서 의도하신 사람으로 되기위해 서로 다른 모든 사람들을 고안하셨다

In that sense our real selves are all waiting for us in Him.

* If something is true in a sense, it is partly true, or true in one way.

그런 의미에서 우리 모두의 진정한 자기는 하나님 안에서 우릴 기다리고 있다

It is no good [trying to ‘be myself’ without Him].

하나님 없이 내가 내 자신이 되려고 노력하는 것은 좋지 않다/헛수고다

The more I resist Him and try to live on my own,

내가 그분을 거부하고 내 힘 만으로 살려고 노력하면 할수록

the more I become dominated by my own heredity and upbringing and surroundings and natural desires.

나는 내 자신의 유전, 성장 과정, 환경과 본성적인 욕망에 의하여 더 욱더 지배 당하게 된다

In fact [what I so proudly call ‘Myself’] becomes merely the meeting place for trains of events

//which I never started and which I cannot stop.

사실상 내가 내 자신이라고 부르는 그것은 단지 연속되는 사건들의 집합 장소에 불과한데

그것들은 내가 전혀 시작하지도 않았고 중지할 수도 없는 사건들이다

[What I call ‘My wishes’] become merely the desires /thrown up by my physical organism

or pumped into me by other men’s thoughts or even suggested to me by devils.

내가 내 소원이라고 부르는 그것은 단지 내 물리적 유기체/육체가 던져준 욕망이거나

다른 사람의 생각에 의해 내 자신에게 주입된 것이거나

마귀가 제안한 생각조차 내 소원으로 되는 것이다

(마귀 소원이 내 소원이 된다는 것은 끔찍한 일로 이 세상을 황견자판으로 만드는 주범/공범이다)

내 소원/생각이라는 것은 내 자신의 것이든지

다른 사람이 내게 주입한 것이든지 마귀가 준 생각에서 비롯된 것이 성경적인 것은

인간의 타락이 시작된 것은 바로 마귀가 제안한 생각을 진리로 믿고 받아들인 선악과 사건이 시초고

그 이후에는 신노름하는 자기나 다른 이의 생각/사상을 절대 진리로 믿기에

이 가짜 신들의 절대 사상들이 자신을 절대적으로 지배함에 더하여

마귀 역시도 한 생각으로 인간들의 생각 영역으로 들어와서 다 같은 인간 생각으로 인간을 지배하는데

생각 자체가 바로 사람 자신이기에 (as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. 잠 23:7)

그 생각을 진리로 믿고 행동하므로 가짜 신 인간+마귀의 행위 역사가 인간 역사로 나왔고 나오고 나올 것이다

Propaganda will be the real origin of what I regard as my own personal political ideas.

정치 선전/선동이라는 것은 내가 내 자신의 정치적 사상으로서 치부하는 그것이 진짜 출처일 것이다

I am not, in my natural state, nearly so much of a person /as I like to believe:
나는, 자연적인 상태에서는, 내가 믿고자 원하는 한 사람은 그리 대수롭지 않은 사람이다

[most of what I call ‘me’] can be very easily explained.

나라고 부르는 그것의 대부분은 대단히 쉽게/간단히 설명될 수 있다

It is when I turn to Christ, when I give myself up /to His Personality,

내가 그리스도께 돌아설 때, 내가 그분의 특성을 인하여 나를 포기할 때가 바로

that I first begin to have a real personality of my own.

내가 최초로 내 자신의 진정한 자신을 가지기 시작하는 때이다
