1 This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, 

chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News.

 

1 This letter 이 편지는 is 왔다 from Paul 바울에게서, a slave of Christ Jesus 예수 그리스도의 노예인, 

chosen 선택되고 by God 하나님에 의해 to be an apostle 사도가 되도록

and sent out 보내져서 to preach 전파하게 his Good News 그분의 복음을.

2 God promised [this Good News] /long ago /through his prophets /in the holy Scriptures.

through his prophets 그분의 선지자를 통하여 in the holy Scriptures 거룩한 성경에.

3 The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line,

he 그분은 was born 태어나셨다 into King David’s family line 다윗왕의 혈통으로,

4 and he was shown to be the Son of God

/when he was raised /from the dead /by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

by the power of the Holy Spirit 성령 하나님의 능력으로부터.

5 Through Christ, God has given [us] [the privilege and authority /as apostles

/to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them], 

so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.

 

5 Through Christ 그리스도를 통하여, God 하나님께서는 has given 주셨다 us 우리에게 the privilege 특권과

and authority 권한을 as apostles 사도들로서 to tell 말할 Gentiles 이방인들에게 everywhere 각처에서

what 그것을 God 하나님께서 has done 하신 for them 그들을 위해, 

so that 그래서 they 그들이 will believe 믿고 and obey 순종하도록 him 그분을,

bringing 가져오면서 glory 영광을 to his name 그분의 이름에게.

6 And you are included /among those Gentiles //who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.

who 그들은 have been called 부름 받았다 to belong 속하기 위하여 to Jesus Christ 예수 그리스도께.

7 I am writing /to all of you in Rome //who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. 

May [God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ] give [you] [grace and peace].

by God 하나님에 의한 and are called 소명을 받은 to be his own holy people 하나님 자신의 거룩한 백성 되라고. 

May God our Father 성부 하나님과 and the Lord Jesus Christ 주 예수 그리스도께서 give 주시기를 기원한다

you 너희에게 grace and peace 은혜와 평강을.

* and (who) are called to be his own holy people.

* 로마 신자들은 대부분 이방인이었지만 세속화된 유대인도 있었기에 거룩한 백성이 되는 소명을 언급하는데

이방인이 100%이고 세속화된 한국교회 신자들에게도 똑같이 하나님의 거룩한 백성 되라는 소명이 적용된다

 

8 Let me say first that I thank my God /through Jesus Christ /for all of you, 

because [your faith in him] is being talked about /all over the world.

through Jesus Christ 예수 그리스도를 통하여 for all of you 너희 모두를 인하여, 

because 왜냐면 your faith 너희의 믿음이 in him 그분 안에서 is being talked about 말해지고 있는 중이기에

all over the world 세상 도처에서.

9 God knows [how often I pray for you]. 

Day and night I bring [you and your needs] /in prayer /to God, 

whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.

 

9 God 하나님께서 knows 아신다 [how often 얼마나 자주 I 내가 pray 기도하는지 for you 널 위해. 

Day and night 밤낮으로 I 나는 bring 가져간다 [you and your needs 너희와 너희의 필요를] in prayer 기도에서

to God 하나님께, whom 그분은 I 내가 serve 섬기는 분 with all my heart 전심으로

by spreading the Good News 복음을 퍼짐으로 about his Son 그분의 아들에 대한.

12 When we get together, I want [to encourage you in your faith],

13 I want [you] [to know, dear brothers and sisters, that I planned /many times /to visit you, 

but I was prevented until now]. 

I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit,

just as I have seen /among other Gentiles.

just as 똑같이 I 내가 have seen 보았던 것처럼 among other Gentiles 이방인들 가운데서.

14 For I have a great sense of obligation /to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, 

to the educated and uneducated alike.

in both 둘 다에서 the civilized world 문명 세상과 and the rest of the world 나머지 세상들에게,

15 So I am eager /to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News.

16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. 

It is the power of God at work, saving everyone //who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

It 그것은 is the power 강력이다 of God 하나님의 at work 역사하시는,

saving 구원하시며 [everyone 모든 이를 //who believes 믿는]

17 This Good News tells [us] [how God makes us right in his sight]. 

This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. 

As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” (Hab 2:4.)

 

17 This Good News 이 복음은 tells 말해준다 us 우리에게 [how 어떻게 God 하나님께서 makes 만드시는지를 us 우리를

right 올바르게 in his sight 하나님 보시기에]. 

This 이것이 is accomplished 성취되었다 from start 시작에서 to finish 끝까지 by faith 믿음에 의해서. 

As the Scriptures 성경이 say 말하는 것처럼, “It 그것은 is through faith 믿음을 통해서이다

that a righteous person 의로운 사람이 has 가지는 것이 life 삶/생명을.”

 

* 4 형식 tells [us] [how God makes us right in his sight]. [간목]에게 [직목]을 동사하다

* 사역동사 5 형식, how God makes [us] [right in his sight]. [목적]이 [목보]되게 동사하다

18 But God shows [his anger] /from heaven /against all sinful, wicked people 

//who suppress the truth by their wickedness.

 

18 But 그러나 God 하나님께서 shows 보여 주셨다 his anger 그분의 노여움을 from heaven 하늘로부터

against all sinful, wicked people 죄성의 악한 사람들에 거슬려서

//who 그들은 suppress 억눌렀다 the truth 진리를 by their wickedness 그들의 악함으로.

자기 생각견해를 진리처럼 믿고 말하는 자는 비진리를 진리로 선포하는 거짓말 꾼이 되는데

타락하여 교만한 피조물의 말과 행동이 창조주 하나님의 말씀/명령/진리를 거스르니 악이다
 

19 They know [the truth about God] /because he has made [it] [obvious to them].

 

19 They 그들은 know 안다 the truth 진실을 about God 하나님께 대한

because 왜냐면 he 그분께서 has made 만드셨다 it 그것을 obvious 명백하게 to them 그들에게.

* 대명사 it = the truth about God

20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. 

Through everything () God made, 

they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. 

So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

people 사람들은 have seen 보았다 the earth 땅과 and sky 하늘을. 

Through everything 모든 것을 통해서 (that) 그건 God 하나님께서 made 만드신, 

they 그들은 can clearly 명백히 see 볼 수 있다 his invisible qualities 그분의 불가시적인 속성을

—his eternal power 그분의 영원한 능력과 and divine nature 신적인 본질을. 

So 그래서 they 그들은 have  없다 no excuse 변명이 for not knowing God 하나님을 모른다는 것에 대한.

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him /as God or even give [him] [thanks]. 

And they began [to think up foolish ideas of what God was like]. 

As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

 

21 Yes 맞습니다, they 그들은 knew 압니다 God 하나님을,

but 그러나 they 그들은 wouldn’t worship 경배하려고 하지 않습니다 him 그분을 as God 하나님으로서

or even give 드리기조차 안 합니다 him 그분께 thanks 감사를. 

And they 그들은 began 시작했습니다 to think up 생각해 내기를 foolish ideas 어리석은 의견을

of what 그것에 대한 God 하나님께서 was like 어떻다는 그것. 

As a result 한 결과로, their minds 그들의 마음이 became 되었다 dark 어둡고 and confused 혼란스럽게.

22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.

 

22 Claiming to be wise 지혜롭다고 주장하나, they 그들은 instead 대신에 became 되었다 utter fools 극도의 바보가.

 

* 분사 claiming의 동작자는 they 즉, 주어수식 ; 그들이 claiming 하며 동시에 became 되는 동시동작 관계표현

23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, 

they worshiped [idols /made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles].

27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. 

Men did shameful things with other men, 

and as a result of this sin, they suffered /within themselves [the penalty () they deserved].

hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.
